Bio:
Sofia Brown (she/her) is a Policy and Legislative Affairs Intern at Climate Resolve. She is a rising senior at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Environmental Science with minors in Conservation Biology and Anthropology.
Sofia is passionate about the intersection of science, policy, and community engagement. Her academic and professional interests center on how human societies interact with the natural world and how data-driven environmental research can be translated into equitable policies. She aims to bridge climate science with socially informed solutions that not only address extreme heat but also uplift the communities most affected by it.
During her time as a student, Sofia has contributed to campus sustainability efforts through the Soil Health and Sustainable Landscaping research team, helped engage young Angelenos in environmental education as a volunteer at the Mathias Botanical Garden, and worked to make the outdoors more accessible by leading backpacking trips for students with varying experience levels. Outside of her academic and professional work, Sofia enjoys camping, slacklining, playing the guitar, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on.
