Bio: Benjamin Verheiden (he/him) is a 2025/2026 Intern at Climate Resolve. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he is an autistic individual and a passionate disability rights and transit advocate. His interest in public transit began when riding Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and Culver City Bus to West Los Angeles College for 6 years.
He interned and then volunteered at Los Angeles City Council District 5 between October 2020 and August 2021. In that time, he researched and wrote findings and recommendations for two developer applications in the fifth district, as well as researched disability accessibility of affordable housing projects for the 2021 LA City Housing Element Draft, Privately-Owned Public Open Spaces (POPOS), and visitability and universal design for equitable and sustainable development.
Benjamin graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts In Urban Studies and Planning and with distinction with a Master of Arts in Sustainability; both from California State University Northridge and with a sustainable transportation focus.
In his free time, he enjoys researching, being a part of the online gaming community, and cosplay.
