Bio:
Anastasia is the Communications Fellow at Climate Resolve. Anastasia’s communications projects promote and sustain the impact of Climate Resolve’s community-engaged workshops. She has covered events such as the Commerce Clean Air Day community festival, Boyle Heights Participatory Science Walks, Baldwin Hills Camping 101 workshop, equipping communities with practical knowledge on climate change, resilience, and outdoor skills. Anastasia is also involved in community outreach. Her role is to connect with community members, gathering their experiences to inform data-driven climate action and resilience plans. With a B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Conservation Biology from UCLA, she is passionate about bridging science communication, quantitative analysis, and community-engaged collaboration to find solutions for environmental and social justice issues.
Before Climate Resolve, she worked at the UCLA Institute of Environment and Sustainability as an Undergraduate Researcher and Data Manager. In this role, she investigated an accessible and standardized method to monitor antibiotic resistance in watersheds globally. She also received formal recognition for her microbiology research conducted at the UNLV when she presented her work at the 2022 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS). Anastasia believes in art as a critical form of expression during difficult times and as a radical platform for self-empowerment. Having a passion for community-engaged art, in 2021, she also interned at the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) for Public Art Administration.
Outside of work, Anastasia enjoys attending music festivals, hiking, reading books, yoga, cooking, watching animal videos, and playing with her dogs!
