Bella Sharp

Wildfire Recovery Grant and Policy Intern

Bio:

Bella Sharp is incredibly excited to be joining Climate Resolve as a 2025-2026 Wildfire Recovery Grant and Policy Intern. She recognizes the value of a reliable climate infrastructure and the role which the local communities Climate Resolve strives to empower play in securing it. Being from Sacramento, she has always been passionate about the link between community action and progressive statewide policies that provide justice to all.

As a fourth year undergraduate at UCLA studying Public Affairs with a minor in Environmental Systems & Society, she has only become more invested in the environmental justice movement with time. As President of her club Activism Through Policy, she spends time writing data-driven policy memos targeted at local policy issues, with her most recent memo exploring the concept of managed retreat as a response to the LA wildfires.

She previously interned at the LA District Office for Senator Alex Padilla, where she assisted constituents affected by the wildfires and researched how the Senator could promote preventative climate action policies. Prior to that, she worked in the Sacramento Mayor’s Office, a state Assemblywoman’s office, and the nonprofit space, connecting the dots between broader policies and the constituents facing their impacts.

In her spare time, she enjoys running and doing yoga, visiting the beach with friends, trying new restaurants and shops, and trying to make LA as walkable of a city as it can be.
