Convenings to Connect to Climate Solutions

Climate Resolve has hosted numerous conferences on climate change in California, bringing together thousands of policy-makers, climate scientists, and engaged Californians interested in helping us meet the climate challenge. 

Additionally, Climate Resolve team members are frequent panelists and speakers at conferences, workshops, and events.

Wildfire Colloquium 2019

On June 14, 2019, Climate Resolve held Wildfire; What Can Cities Do, a unique conference that brought together climate scientists, policymakers, and wildfire experts.

Attendees heard from State of California and local government leaders as well as national and local organizations on local actions that can protect life and property from extreme wildfire.

Climate Change Symposium 2017

Climate Resolve worked with California Natural Resources Agency, California Environmental Protection Agency, and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research on the California Climate Change Symposium 2017, which featured preliminary reports from California’s Fourth Climate Change Assessment, a status report on the state’s Climate Change Research Plan, as well as presentations on emerging research.

Climate Day LA 2017

The second annual Climate Day LA took place on June 27, 2017 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, presented by Climate Resolve, ecoAmerica, KCRW, FORM, and IHEARTCOMIX in support of the Path To Positive LA initiative for climate solutions. The event will bring together over 1,500 Angeleno leaders (such as Mayor Eric Garcetti and Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker), advocates, and locals to strategize, implement, and celebrate local solutions to climate change. A benefit gala will follow, featuring an exclusive performance by award-winning artist Moby, and an evening concert in the Theatre will cap off the day with internationally renowned artists Neon Indian, Weyes Blood, and Eric Wareheim.

The local environmental community established dozens of new pathways towards achieving our ambitious 2050 goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 400 people were in attendance to hear more than 30 speakers present their unique perspectives on California’s climate challenge.

Climate Change Symposium 2015

Climate Resolve served as the convener for this symposium hosted by the California Natural Resources Agency, the California Environmental Protection Agency, the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The 2-day event featured climate scientists sharing cutting-edge research to address the impacts of climate change on the state and discussions of the state’s strategies and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to develop programs to safeguard California from a changing climate.

Path to Positive: Climate Day LA 2015

At Climate Day LA, part of the The Path to Positive: Los Angeles campaign jointly organized by Climate Resolve with ecoAmerica, we gathered with more than 600 Angelenos from local government, faith, higher education, business, and health sectors to build awareness and support for climate solutions and draft a Los Angeles Declaration for Climate Action.
