Bio:
Keila Villegas (she/her) is the Climate Resilience Organizer at Climate Resolve. Raised in Santa Ana, California, Keila quickly became aware of the socio-economic disparities between North Orange County and South Orange County cities and decided to earn a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Prior to joining CR, Keila served 5 years advocating for environmental justice, particularly in water contamination (PFAs & VOCs) for a local nonprofit, Orange County Environmental Justice. Early in her career, Keila oversaw a soil lead remediation program and successfully advocated for policy changes that would address environmental issues and further protect vulnerable neighborhoods in her hometown. Keila has strong experience working alongside frontline communities so that together they can advocate for grassroots solutions towards a just and sustainable future.
Outside of work, Keila enjoys playing video games, working on a puzzle, reading with an iced latte, and eating some delicious food with friends and family. She’s also an amateur bird watcher and rabbit enthusiast, so she’ll always try to take her binoculars on a hike!
