Bio:
Maddie believes that effective communication and data-driven storytelling can compel anyone to support climate action. She carries out this belief in her work as Climate Resolve’s Climate Grants Analyst, helping to win funding for community-driven climate action as a member of our grants team. Maddie recognizes the growing importance of investment in climate infrastructure in years to come, and wants to help ensure that these allocations find themselves in the hands of frontline communities.
Before her time at Climate Resolve, Maddie was the second person in the nation to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Climate Science from UCLA, the first program of its kind in the United States. She loves to learn and talk about climate-related issues, as exemplified by her simultaneous experiences as an undergraduate researcher in atmospheric spectroscopy and sustainability radio show host.
More recently, she worked as a Grants Administrator at GRID Alternatives, collaborating with key players in the LA sustainability landscape to bring no-cost solar energy to Angelenos. Through this experience, she learned about the strategies and resources that community-based organizations leverage to successfully implement climate action programs. This experience informs her work at Climate Resolve and with our partners.
Maddie is passionate about ensuring we thoughtfully build a better, more sustainable world informed by the inextricable links between social justice and climate solutions. During her free time, she loves cooking elaborate plant-based meals, going to comedy and improv shows, and sending far too many photos of her cat, Martin, to her family group chat.
